But our estheticians make their own schedule, and we are not in the office if we do not have clients. If you would like to come in to buy a product or a gift card and you don’t have an appointment, we suggest calling or texting us at 586-206-5071 to see if we are in the office.

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure for your skin, done by using a blade to scrape away dead skin, removing dirt, debris, and Vellus hairs (“peach fuzz”). Dermaplaning will leave the skin feeling smoother and brighter. Dermaplaning also allows for products to penetrate deeper, and for makeup to apply smoother. We equate the feeling after dermaplaning to a slight sunburn. You may leave looking a little pink, and the skin feeling slightly sensitive. Redness should only last a few hours (at most), while sensitivity can last a few days. It is important to note that removing vellus hairs through dermaplaning does not make them come back thicker or darker.

What does dermaplaning after-care look like?

Because dermaplaning leaves new, fresh skin exposed, the face will be a little sensitive for a few days. If you work up a sweat or go swimming, it may sting. We suggest not using any manual exfoliants, chemical exfoliants (glycolic or salicylic) or Retinols for at least 72 hours after dermaplaning. We also avoid direct sunlight, and tanning beds for at least 72 hours. It is okay to be outside but we suggest 50 SPF as well as a hat or some sort of shade.

How often should you get a facial?

After dermaplaning, It takes about 4-6 weeks for your Vellus hairs to grow back, and for dead skin to accumulate. We suggest coming in for a facial as early as 3 weeks and as late as 7 weeks apart. Basically, once a month.
